Dot NAME Domains

Launched in 2001, the .NAME generic extension is the sole TLD supposed to be for personal sites only. These domain names can include personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other labels people are popular by. At the beginning, just 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you planned to reserve john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Existing third-level domain names remained active.

Through our firm, you can obtain your .NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will have the opportunity to edit the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already purchased domain to our company if you receive its EPP transfer authorization code from the present registration provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been finalized. There are no special rules on who can buy a dot NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the objective behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.

The dot NAME generic TLD is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no additional cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the accurate spelling in your local language.
